Phone apps - learning and memory

Lately I have been using an app called Kinnu. I can pick a subject and learn a little about it. Each subject is broken into pieces that are only around 5 minutes long.

It doesn't really have in depth learning. Even doing all the pieces in a subject still gives only a surface level knowledge. But it is fun learning little bits.

Kinnu has quizzes immediately after learning a thing. They also have follow up quizzes on things you learned in previous sessions.

I am also playing World Geography. You get points for right answers. And you go up in level with points. There are awards for numbers of right answers in various categories.

There are no levels to pass, so you don't get stuck on a hard level. If you score poorly, you just go up slower.

The last one of have been playing is called Pairs. It is a digital version of the game where you flip over cards to find matching pairs.

This is score based rather than win loose. After enough fumbling around you can eventually get all the matches. So you can't really loose.

You score points for each level. Each level costs points to go in. So in theory, you could get stuck without enough points to go further. I have been playing for a week or two and I am doing good on points. I think they make it fairly easy to earn enough points not to get stuck

Unlike other games, the levels don't seem to get harder as I progress. Instead the difficulty varies a little randomly.

Thanks for sharing those apps. I will have a go at World Geography tomorrow. JIMB.
