Phone routing

Ia anyone dismayed by modern electronic call routing? No matter what business you call you get on a "Choose 1 for this" and "Choose 2 for that". You hardly ever get to talk to a live person anymore. Our local cable company use to have a number to call for tech help, but in the last several years you are transferred to a national help line and go through the "Choose 1 or choose 2" routine.

As I'm always saying..........WELCOME to this Generation!

Shoot, a guy can even get an electronic set of drums today. Just give me a good Ludwig set and I'll show you some rock!

I hate when they say your call is important, you've been on the phone for 40 minutes already being jerked around, and then they disconnect you. When you call back it's the same routine all over again, and you never get the same person twice if you do get a live one. I dial 0 often, even if it's not mentioned in the main menu. And no, I don't want to press one for English. Just take care of my call in English, and let other languages press the buttons.

Hate it. That part where they want you to respond with a word or 2 or say which service you want, I cuss them out & the robot voice says cheerfully, I'm sorry, I didn't quite get that.

My favorite is when you're on hold and the automated voice keeps saying "your call is important to us...". If my call is so frickin' *important* to them, why don't they answer it??? Hmmmmph...

I agree, I hate it to. But your peeve made me laugh. I can't stand it!
And getting an Indian on the line after that long wait, makes me want to hang up on them.

It's so annoying and time consuming too. I put them on speaker and go about my business until they pick up.
I've had good luck with the option to give them a call back number, if that's a possiblity. They do call back.
Continually pressing O will often do the trick.
Instead of trying to understand a thick accent, and realizing the person has no clue, I will hang up and call back in hopes someone knowledgable answers. Depends on the situation.
It's a PIA!
