The beautiful seaside town of Cascais in Portugal is well worth visiting. Delight in fabulous beaches, shopping, restaurants, and much more.

We took the train from Rossio Station Lisbon. Just round the corner from our Hotel on Rossio Square.

In a little beach town/area outside Cascais, I came very near to being arrested in 1967 for wearing a French bikini at the beach. It was only the fast-talking of the two guys we had met in Lisbon and who had taken us on an day's excursion to this little town where they had family that convinced the policeman to let me go. Had we been in Cascais, I would have been OK. Technically, bikinis were illegal in all of Portugal at that time but, of course, that was a tourist town and the regulations were relaxed.

Thank you. I hear Barcelona is like a giant Disneyland with even longer lines. Naturally it is my primary destination too.
hmmm...I wouldn't describe it like that... but it is one, if not the most crime ridden city..absolutely full of pickpockets....
