I looked up that saying but couldn't find a definition. So I'm not sure whether this has the same meaning. A woman I knew used it when trying to stay out of other people's drama:

"Not my monkeys, not my circus."

..or here they say Put up, or Shut Up... when they want someone to prove a point.. or be quiet
