Hubby thought he had some hip problems, or sacro-illiac arthritis.. He went to an Ortho yesterday and the problem is his spine and a pinched nerve. He has ordered physical therapy... which I wonder if it isn't futile. The problem is that no insurance will pay for anything more substancial without first trying more conservative measures.. anyone have success with PT? Or did you end up having to have injections or surgery?

PT can't hurt and it may stave off surgery. And unfortunately, you have to do what your insurance company insists on if you want any payment. I had PT for my shoulder and still had to end up with surgery, but at least it made the insurance company happy. If the insurance company ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.....

Ain't that the truth.. I wonder if PT ever works though.. I personally have not heard of anyone saying it did.

Didn't do dink for my herniated lower spine disc. Tried acupuncture too. Surgery fixed it, but over the years scar tissue is again causing pain.

I tried PT, acupuncture and even a chiropractor. I also did the shots, epidural and facet blocks. Finally, surgery. Now, all is much better, but not 100%, but at least I can enjoy life again.
