Picture Post Magazine.

Maywalk

Maywalk
Many of you may not remember this magazine but it is recently been published as a re-issue with all things pertaining to WW2. As I am of that era they have asked me if I knew of anyone who had a tale to tell of that time so I am putting this on here on the off chance that some of the members still have a family member alive who has a tale to tell.
Not holding out much hope BUT if anyone is interested PM me and I will pass on the message to those who are getting the magazine together for them to get in touch.

My Father landed in Normandy the day after D-Day. He had spent over 30 years in the military and although he told me stories of WWII and his being in France, I understand that journalists want first-hand accounts of stories that come directly from those involved, so I will leave it at that.

I watched WWII in HD on the History Channel last week and it was one of the best documentaries that I had ever seen about WWII. I was in Vietnam and at the time I was there, I thought that I was in Hell. However, after watching that documentary, I must concede that WWII was much worse in most every aspect of what war is.

Many thanks for getting back to me Oldman.
I will make enquiries about stories being handed down through the family but as you stated the journalists would like anything from those involved. That is how they contacted me because I was an evacuee from the London Blitz after being bombed out twice and machine gunned twice. They found my WW2 website and contacted me through that.
Thanks again for taking the trouble to answer my posting. God Bless.
