Pizza & Beer

Went to our local pub today. The waitress came up & said "would you folks like some coffee, tea or a coke? We looked at her & said "We'd like beer." She sure was surprised. We ordered a wonderful light ale & a huge 15 inch pizza where we took 1/2 home. Both were delicious. However, it made me think. Are we too old for pizza & beer? We were the only seniors in the place. The oldest people there were, maybe in their 40s. We are in our 70s. Maybe we were doing something we shouldn't do? What do you think?

goodness me that's the complete opposite of any pub service in the uk, where everyone is expected to want alcohol unless they specifically ask for something else...

We, at 70/me and 72/wife always have a Bud Light with a pizza. We have been in a number of restaurants here where the majority of the people were Millennials and Generation X. But, then again, the city we live in is mostly of both of those Generations. Most of the Seniors here either go to Perkins Restaurant, Breakfast Club or McDonalds. McDonalds in the AM for coffee and talking.

Just because we are Seniors, sure doesn't mean the Party has stopped!

I often see mention on here of seniors going to MacDonalds in your area Cody , in the UK..MacDonalds is predominately for the youngsters.. (teens and children mainly)

And the American tourists.... I go to them (in UK) for inexpensive coffee only (we don't do 'fast food'). I know, it's anecdotal, but I see my fellow American boomers in the Micky D's.

Maybe shes had the experience with folks our age ordering soft drinks instead of beer, but we love beer and pizza!

Whenever we go out to eat the waitress always asks, would you like something to drink but just never offers a few drinks. We always have beer with pizza! 🍕🍕🍺🍺

I've never acquired the taste for beer, just something about it. The few times I've had it, I couldn't finish half of the can. I'd rather have red wine.

Never too old for pizza and beer. We usually take a pizza home from a NY style pizzeria and have a can of Miller with it at home. Rarely eat out anymore, more comfy at home regardless of the type of food.
