Today we're having grilled Norwegian salmon and sliced Yukon gold potatoes sauteed in olive oil. I already bought the salmon before I decided to fast, so I'm starting tomorrow.

I'll still have a cup of coffee in the morning as usual, besides that I'll mostly be drinking plain Seltzer (with or without a little pure Black Cherry or organic Lemon juice for flavor) or plain water. I'll just take a couple of my daily supplements like chlorella, milk thistle, lutein, Aloe Vera Juice, etc. I should drop a pound or two during the fast.

Hubby's already teasing me about how he's going to bring home some crispy chili rellenos smothered in green chili, etc, etc. :love_heart:

I've done a couple of 3 day fasts over the years, but its been a long time. Anyone here doing or have done fasts?

You're bad Ike, Once I decide to do a fast, I have no temptation or desire to eat anything even if it's in front of my face. Always feel better after cleansing my system for a few days, that's reward enough for me. We have some nicely marbled boneless rib eyes in the freezer waiting patiently for our next charcoal barbeque. :D

OK, that did it!! :tapfoot: I called in some Mexican food to be delivered, I should be inhaling cheese within a half hour, the beer is chilling in the freezer. Thanks, Jim!

I’ll do the three day fast with you Seabreeze.
Oddly enough I had been thinking it’s time I did this since it’s been a while.
Ill skip the coffee though but will start tomorrow.

Sounds great Keesha! :teapot: Right now I'm having a big glass of seltzer with some Knudsens Just Tart Cherry juice in it, had a cup of Lily of the Desert aloe vera juice before and plan to have some bone broth later on, been having some of that every day for awhile. Also had my usual half glass of organic lemon juice in water with some baking soda in it this morning. Hubby's making himself a couple of eggs sunny side up for an open face bagel sandwich, I offered to make it, but he wanted to.

I haven't done a fast in quite some time and will likely only do the next at the insistence of a medical professional as part of a prerequisite to surgery. I just don't have the willpower these days.

I hope you're feeling okay April and don't have any surgery in your future. :love_heart:

Thank you Sea, I hope not either. Only thing I have coming up soon are mammogram and a colonoscopy. Not looking forward to either especially the colonoscopy. Other than that, I'm in a state of uncomfortableness, hives constantly appearing all over my body as I'm becoming more and more allergic to I don't know what. I dropped some essential oil on my foot and have a terrible wound from it still feels like it's on fire at times. Anyway, just trying to keep the pain off my mind.

Good luck with your fast. :love_heart:

Good luck with your surgery April. That’s really a big ordeal you are dealing with.
Have you ever considered an elimination diet to help you figure out what’s causing your hives.?
It could be anything but as far as food items go, an elimination diet along with a food journey can really help you pinpoint what it could be.

The foods which you think might be trigger foods you should eat as much of it as you can in one day and log in your results.
Doing a search on food allergies, the elimination diet will show up if you’d like to try it.

Again, good luck with your surgery and discovering what’ is causing your hives.

Best of luck with your mammogram and colonoscopy April, hope the results from both of them are favorable. That's too bad about the hives, sounds awful. Could it be from plants or bushes where you live? Keesha has good advice on the elimination diet, I think most people start with wheat and dairy. Could it be a detergent or soap you're using? Did you ever get hives where you used to live?

Keesha, Sea, thanks for the suggestions, I do have some idea of some of the food items that cause my hives as well as environment, chemical. The problems is the list just keeps getting longer. Soon I'll have to be wrapped up in a bubble. I won't mind the bubble as long as I can roll around in it though. :rofl1::rofl1:

There are so many food spices I can't let even touch my skin like red pepper, cloves, and many more I can't eat. Can't go near bleach and some other cleaners or. I have a neighbor who if I sit on her patio for more that a minute, the hives come out immediately, if I my arm brushes against the wood cabinets in my apt, I break out. I'm careful with bath and laundry products as well, no fabric softeners or dryer sheets unless I use natural products/make my own.

I've been going over in my mind what the most recent food item I might have eaten that could be affecting me and it may be some flavored coffee I had recently picked up. I rarely drink coffee, but love the flavored kind so thought I would give it a try. I'm not sure which cause the lump that I had under my chin which the doctors made me come to the hospital immediately to have examined, it was growing and I guess they were afraid it would at some point start blocking my airway even though it was on the outside, but because it grew so fast so big, they didn't want to chance it. That's when they prescribed two kinds of meds which just ended up causing issues of another kind, so I stopped taking them. However, being in so much physical upset lately, I've started back just taking the milder one zyrtec. Without the med, I couldn't find any peace at all. Still doesn't completely clear up the pain but, it did shrink the hives. Last time I had it this bad was back in April after a camping trip, I had sprinkled pepper flakes around the outside and inside of my tent, bit mistake, by the time the trip was over, my skin was on fire and bumps and hives were everywhere.

For now, I've stopped drinking that coffee, I'm more of a tea drinker anyway these days.. :D

Thank you ladies for the concern, the other test are just routine.

Why do people dislike colonoscopies? You are unconscious, through the whole thing.

Not always, also I had to have a follow-up type one, I forget what it was called where they tipped you turned you looked you over in various positions and I had to be awake through it all. But mostly a lot of times it's the prep work for the procedure, drinking that solution that keeps you glued to the commode isn't much fun, plus the stuff taste horrific. But again, even for regular colonoscopies, not everyone gets to be asleep, some just get a mild sedative.

Hope you're coming along nicely on your fast Keesha, finished mine yesterday, it went well and I feel good, lost exactly 5 pounds as a result.
