Plate for Devilled Eggs

Does anyone have one?

Years ago I gave away my DD’s when she was packing for a long move. Sure enough she missed it. Later I finally found a replacement in an antique store.

Yesterday I wished I had one when I took the devilled eggs to my friend‘s luncheon.

This is one of the few specialty items I’m actually thinking of buying. Probably would only use it 4-5 times a year.

We have 2... and old glass plate, and a newer one that the holders go in the fridge and get chilled and go in a covered case for transport

I don't recall my mom and/or grandmother ever owning one. I never have. But, I have seen them being sold on Marketplace (FB). It is rare that you see them though. I bet @debodun has a few.

You could also display deviled eggs on platter with arugula and chopped pistachios.

Perhaps one with a cover might be best if you are travelling with them.

@debodun was the first person I thought of, too.

I have one but It's all packed up to go to my daughter. It was my mother's, part of a 12-place crystal set that she used for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner bc it's got pine cones and evergreen branches carved in it (or etched, or molded, or however it's done). I'm sending Maud the whole set.

The one I bought my daughter wasn’t tinted either. Gee, I thought I was being extravagant paying $30. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad price.

I’ve never been to a pot luck where the devilled eggs weren’t devoured.

It’s strange that these weren’t common in every housewife’s company dishes collection.

If I’d had lettuce I would have packed the tray with it. It prevents the eggs from sliding around.

I did have one I remember, I think I sold it at one of my sales. It was ceramic and looked like a chicken. Much like this one:

Deviled eggs seem to be a food that people either love or hate. I could make a meal of just DEs. A few people I know simply loathe them. There was a woman that used to attend the church I go to and she brought the most delicious DEs once a month to the after-service potluck. She hasn't attended since the pandemic started. I am in DE withdrawal.
