This from This Week Magazine: "A Minnesota company has created self-cleaning underwear that doesn't need to be washed. Called Kribi, the smell resistant undergarment is composed of a blend of bamboo, eucalyptus, beechwood and bacteria destroying copper fibers. HercLeon the company behind the product said that the Kribi can go for weeks and even months without washing. The company conceded some people may think that it is gross but said as long as users "let them air out for a few hours after a day of use, they smell as fresh as unworn underwear.'" 🤧🥴

Right. Never mind that they may still be covered with the non-volatile components of sweat, may have had a few drops of urine on them, and so on.

Perhaps they would be a good idea for camping or backpacking or some such thing where it could be difficult to launder your clothing.

This would be great for homeless people and poor people.

Geez I never thought about smelling my underwear.

Bamboo and wool fabrics are bacteria and fungus resistant making them better choices since they are made from odour resistant and breathable natural fibres. They still need to be washed like any other underwear. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. 🙄 They are awesome materials though.

That's right.
You may dance
You may prance
But the last 2 drops
Go down your pants

I already have socks and knickers made from bamboo fibre, (perhaps us Brits are one step ahead of you lot?)
However, they still get tossed in the laundry at the end of the day.

Sounds like something that was developed for the military.

The soldiers of an infantry unit had been in the field for two weeks when the Sergeant announces, “I’ve got good news and bad news. First the good news. Today we’re going to change our underwear.”

The troops start cheering wildly.“Now the bad news,” continues the Sarge. “Smith, you change with Jones. Andrews, you change with Murphy…”
