POLL: Public Transportation, What Form Do You Use?

There is no public transportation where we live. No taxi service, trains, or busses. There might be uber service but it is very limited from what I have heard. I guess 150,000 population is too small even for taxi service.

well how about a population of just 1,000?.. that's where I live and we have buses , trains and taxis...

In 2 years they'll probably have City-owned jet pack rentals, so I'll vote for those.

I have used Uber, cabs and buses on vacation. I have used trains to go to other states. Locally I just drive my car.

One thing we do extremely well in the cities of the UK is pubic transportation.. and millions use it every day..it's a very safe way to travel. Homeless people are not permitted to use the trains as somewhere to sleep...

The thought of traveling in London without using public transport blows my mind. Why would you? In Essex, it's hit and miss. But in London - drove through the City once - never again.

Long ago, I lived in NYC. And there, it's quite easy to use the subway and bus system. Then I eventually moved out to the sticks-12 miles past Nowhere. Without being able to drive, you have to rely on taxis. The nearest bus stop is 6 miles from me. Going to the doctors or store is an all day affair, costing $80+ ONE way.

There is a bus line with stops up on the highway, will take you into town one way or the nearest city the other way. As most people in Southern California would do, I'd drive my own vehicle, it's deeply ingrained in the culture.

Note, a revived dated thread. Will also add though not a POLL option and somewhat limited in scope, I walk urban streets a lot for miles that is great exercise, especially for we senior folk.

Six months old is not too old for this forum, I've seen 7 yr. old threads come back from the dead. Admins on some computer forums will go nuts if threads more than a few weeks old get bumped. Myself? I love bumping old threads...necroposting.
