Posting a photo instead of "P"

I would like to post a picture instead of the "P" where my name is. How do I do this? I can't figure this out. Please help. Thanks!
 
Click on your User Name at the top right side of the forum page, then click on Account Details. You'll see your avatar there on that page, then you click on it as Keesha mentioned. Then follow the instructions. I always use a picture that I have saved on my computer, then I click on Browse to choose it, then Open it.
 
Thanks for your help. So far so good but I keep getting a sign "Your picture is too big". I ran it through Irfanview but it is still too big. What size pixels should the darn photo be? Help please & thanks. I am getting tired of my "P".

Your picture can be no more than 400 pixels by 400 pixels. I hope that helps
 
On my phone: Every time I want to post a picture on this or other forums, my phones software gives me the choice of selecting small, medium or large which is just another way of adjusting pixel size.
On my computer: I have a function called Preview which lets me adults the size of any Photo by choosing the pixel size I want. It also lets me crop and do other photo editing.

Are either of those things available to you?
 
Thank you Ronni, Keesha & Seabreeze for all your help. It took me 2 days but I finally did it. I finally got those pixels changed & here I am. As they say, "if you don't succeed at first, try again". Goodbye to that boring "P".
