Power started being restored by 900 PM Pacific time

Problems like that make me start worrying that I should spend a few thousand dollars to get a big power bank, a mini fridge it could run, and a electric teakettle that could run off the power bank too. But then I think they would all just sit and not get used for years and years. Wish I could see the future.

This is what my husband bought when we only had the gas generator. He wanted something that he could run inside the house whether the outage was a short or long term. This little thing is heavy & if I had to move it, I'd put in on a small dolly to roll. It stays charged by having it plugged into an outlet. Periodically, he'll run his CPAP on it to use it. It's whisper quiet too.

It won't run a lot like a regular generator, but you can move it around to where you need it. He tried it out on the sump pump & it lasted 24 hours before we had to recharge it. My friend bought one for her mother to keep her fridge working during outages & to keep her cell phone charged.

It appears to have been caused by a fire at a Pacific Gas and Electric plant.

I've considered getting a generator here is Dallas for when we lose electricity, but they don't power A/C units and if it is summer that is the worst part of it.

You need to get a whole house generator which will handle everything you need in your house. If you already have natural gas it would be an easy hookup. If not, you could look into an LP tank which will run one which is what we have.
