This recipe is one my mom started making back in the 70s. Really easy to make. It was a holiday staple in our house.
By the way, you can substitute sugar free ingredients.

INGREDIENTS

2 small sized boxes strawberry flavored JELL-O
1 angel food cake...broken up into pieces
1 container Cool Whip topping
1 package frozen sliced strawberries, thawed (I have used fresh when in season)

PREPARATION
In advance, prepare ONE of the Boxes of JELL-O per package directions. Pour into a pan so it will set relatively flat. Let it set.
When the JELLO is set you can start the rest of your preparation. Mix together the Cool Whip, strawberries and angel food cake. Now, prepare the second box of JELLO per package directions. DO NOT SET. Pour the mixture into the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Now, take the previously made JELLO and cut up into approximately 1 inch cubes and blend into the mixture.
Now, pour everything into a casserole dish, or cake pan and let set. Best to let it set overnight. Enjoy.

 

I have a friend who loves raspberries. I will have to tell her to try that.
