Prisoner Serving 2 Life Sentences Escapes

This is a terrible story, about a ******! he doesn't deserve to be called
a man, was serving 2 life sentences for assaulting women and children
since the 1980s, yet the Parole Board, in all their wisdom allowed him
to be moved from a secure prison, to an open prison.

An open prison, doesn't have any bars, or any fence and the inmates
can just walk down town if they want, I don't know if they are given
any money, to spend, when they go out.

This animal walked out in the night after roll call, he stuffed clothes
into the bed to let the wardens think that he was still there, this is
only 3 weeks after he was moved.

Anyway, luckily, he was captured, after his picture was plastered all
over the place, I hope this is his last taste of freedom, ever.

There are no reports that he committed any offence while he was out.

Personally I think that the parole board should be accountable, several
times lately there has been a lot of mistakes like this, just before Christmas
another, of the same ilk, was set free, but he too was arrested for following
young women, along the street and returned to where he belongs.

I agree when folks like this do let people out or in this case easy to escape IF any crime was done .. if victims could sue for liability board members etc bet they would clearly review their choices.

Well geez, why don't they just give him a pack of smokes and directions to the nearest bar? 👎

I think Government employees are immune from prosecution for their decisions.
Yes i think your right but it would be nice to have them held to a higher standard then whoops..
Saw an article about the LA district attorney now saying he did not KNOW the facts of case before plea bargaining down a child molester
he can lose next election but some bureaucrats that are not subject to elections get away with terrible decisions yet no consequences.

Then the District Attorney should be dragged over the coals for not properly reviewing the case he was plea bargaining.
Gross incompetence and this is where the system allows these things to occur.
He can lose the next election but honestly, the public have very short memories.

I asked Google who elects Parole Boards

A parole board consists of people qualified to make judgements about the suitability of a prisoner for return to free society. Members may be judges, psychiatrists, or criminologists, although some jurisdictions do not have written qualifications for parole board members and allow community members to serve as them. A universal requirement is that board candidates be of good moral fiber.

I believe that is true in the US, unless those decisions are based on bribes or other crimes. Can't really do much if its just laziness or incompetence.

Government employees are not real well paid here, but it is a pretty safe job, doesn't always attract the best and the brightest.

Playing stupid of the facts has worked for many for years..... It should not be acceptable and especially when the stakes are high...
i know they have short memories and frankly they COUNT on that.

I agree, the DA may not know all details of cases, but the DA is in charge and sets practice in these cases. What ever happened to the "Buck Stops Here" thing?

No, they count on us to have the short memories...

No one takes responsibility this guy blamed his staff for not informing him..
Yes did not proof read that is what i meant to say they count on US to forget their blunders but they too "play forgetful" ... i always like when a politician is shown video or public statement after they deny saying things like to watch some squirm.

Some people cannot be rehabilitated. Can't imagine how a parole board could look at his record over 20+ years and think he could be.
Rehabilitation is not the parole board's concern. Cost cutting is. The inmate is 56 years old. And he may have medical costs. Older inmates are often released to reduce costs of their upkeep - which increases as they age. That's why the older Manson murderers were approved for parole. And that's why Sirhan was also approved for parole. They would have been released if the Governor didn't step in & say "No."
Naturally, they won't admit that cost is the reason; they have a wealth of other B.S. "explanations" ready to appease an outraged public.

Remember why they released Bill Cosby? His age & related medical expenses.

O.J. Simpson - released after serving 8 years of a 33-year sentence for armed robbery & kidnapping. Also his age & medical expenses.

Book learning and a College Education doesn't guarantee that they
have any common sense, their position, probably gives them ideas
that they are great and that their decisions are correct.

A bunch of sycophants looking up to the most senior and making
him/her the decision maker.

Mike.
