We all get messages about "Privacy & Security"
on our PCs.
"Your Privacy is important to us" etc., etc., etc.
That statement means absolutely nothing, it is a
waste of time on the part of a company having it
on their site.
I received some junk mail from a health company in
Nottingham yesterday and it was very specific, it
seemed to me that they may have been reading my
Medical Records.
So I called them and asked where they got the information
from, they said that they would look into it and let me know.
I called again today and asked again, the woman who answered
was the same as yesterday, she asked for my post (Zip) code so
that she could find me, I said that she wouldn't be able to as she
had "Deleted" me yesterday, yet she did find me, I was then passed
to a man who is in the department that deals with this, he told me
that he didn't know where he got the information from as it was in
2015, after a lot of hot air about information, he said that he would
contact the place where he got the information, (the same place that
he didn't know) and ask them to contact all the places that they sold
me to, to remove me from their systems.
I asked him that if he wasn't allowed to sell my information, why
then was he allowed to buy it, his answer, "I am allowed to sell
your information under certain circumstances, depending where I
got it and what boxes you ticked in an internet transaction", so
if I give them, anybody, permission to send me in the future any
details of offers etc., them my details can be legally sold!!!
I now warn you all to be careful, I doubt that it will help though
as I never bought any "Medicine" on line as this person reckons
I did and therefore had an idea of what I might buy.
I could write to a politician, but my letter would probably get binned.
