Problem with a different website

I tried to join another forum. Cloudflare said 'invalid domain name.' I'm not even sure what that means. Tried the 'contact admin' section, same error message.

The forum is clearly up-and-running, as it has quite a few members.

This morning I tried a different device, and two different browsers- same results.. so it's not a matter of current device and the only browser that works on it.

Can anyway unscramble what the problem is, and what I can do about it?

Key Takeaways

  • An invalid domain name is one that fails to meet DNS formatting rules, contains prohibited characters, or has technical misconfigurations that prevent it from functioning properly.
  • Invalid domain names are often caused by syntax errors, missing or incorrect DNS records, expired registrations, or the use of restricted terms.
  • To identify an invalid domain name, use WHOIS lookup tools to check registration status, DNS checkers to verify configurations, and email validation services to detect problems.
  • Preventing invalid domain name errors involves following best practices for domain registration, conducting regular audits, monitoring DNS health, and educating users on proper domain formatting and management.

In simple terms it means.... how very dare you go to another forum instead of this one! :sneaky::ROFLMAO:

And I don't understand a word of it.. or what to do about it.

Sometimes when something like this happens you need to empty your cache/cookies to force the computer to forget the original message. Most of the time that fixes the issue.

Another thing to try is plug the name of the forum into Down Detector. It will let you know if the site is or was experiencing problems.

Well, it happened on two different devices.

Checked, and it says site is up for them.

The site came up, but trying to register and trying to contact their admin. both resulted in the Cloudflare error message.

can you post the address for the site here...
One of the members said we're not supposed to do that.

However, I noticed a 'register by email' option, and that worked.
The site doesn't seem to be very active, though.
