I have very profound hearing loss. My current aids are 15 years old. Audiologist is recommending Phonak NAIDA Lumina UP90 BTE for me. Does anyone use this model? Do you like it? Are you using a different brand/model for profound loss? TIA

I'm sorry to read that your hearing loss is as extreme.
Do your hearing aids give you any help with other people speaking to you?
Or do you only get some sound stimuli?

I don't know any info that might help you.

We were told that my husband would not be able to hear much in the range of speech, even with aids; that he would only get some sound.

I just got a new set of Phonak hearing aids. I got the one with batteries rather than the rechargeable ones. I get a box of 60 batteries from eBay for less that $20

They do help with speach but. Not in loud enviroments and I pretty much need to see lips to hear correctly.

I just have moderate hearing loss, with a high degree of tinnitus. The model hearing aid that the VA gave me is the Phonak Audéo Infinio, which I'm told is top of the line in both quality and price. Using the companion phone app the volume can be adjusted individually or together, and adjusted for environmental conditions:

adjusted for environmental conditions: Does this help much? I know what works for you may not for me, but just wondering.
