Do you say EN-dive or AHN-deev?
That would be French Gennie?Depends which form you mean. If it's loose, curly and leafy it's EN-dive. If it's pale green bulb shape it is AHN=deev as in Belgian Endive
I say ENvelope, but I remember as a child saying AHNvelope. What about "envelope?" "AHNvelope" or "ENvelope?"
It's very bitter, perhaps that's why, LOL. I won't eat it because of the bitterness.I don't even know what the heck it is.....
I looked it up. You were correct, it is ENvelope!Thank you Rose! And I say ENvelope too, though I have been corrected and told that it's AHNvelope. Pfft.
And the proper pronunciation in Mass for YARD is YAHD.I was born and raised in Massachusetts, USA. The CORRECT pronunciation, of course, is AHNvelope. JEEESH!!!!
Fuzzy, I grew up near you in CT and I guess AHNvelope is regional. I did say it that way as a child.I was born and raised in Massachusetts, USA. The CORRECT pronunciation, of course, is AHNvelope. JEEESH!!!!
That's the olde British that stuck in New England...dropping the "R". Not so much CT, tho'. I wonder why.And the proper pronunciation in Mass for YARD is YAHD.
Sounds like the Kennedys.Pahk the Cah in Hahvahd Yahd LOL
