So far, I've just kept a copy of my vaccination card in my wallet, and the original is kept at home. I have never needed to show it for anything yet. However, soon, more and more companies, businesses, airlines, etc. will require proof of vaccination before granting service. That is a very good thing to help curb the spread of coronavirus in the United States and throughout the world. If anything, it will be an incentive to those who so far have refused to get COVID-19 vaccines.
I'm old school, so for now I'll stick with a copy of my card, but if I need to travel out of the country in the future, I will get a more formal proof of vaccination without hesitation. A code on your smartphone seems to be an easy way to show your status.
