Prosecutors and higher courts aiding and abetting injustice. This is a far too common problem in many locales in which a prosecutor either rams through a guilty verdict and/or ignores/hides evidence of innocence.

A common argument is if they reverse a guilty verdict they would diss a jury or judge along with the local prosecutors & police. There have been numerous cases of wrongly or poorly convicted individuals throughout the years and they still seem to continue.
A case that sticks in mind is a case from Texas where it took decades for man to be freed and the original prosecutor removed from the case after decades of denying or ignoring exculpatory evidence.

The prosecutor would not relent, kept on denying he might actually be innocent. This prosecutor was more worried about his career and being right than justice. But he isn't the only one. In many areas/regions of the country it's a good old boy network more worried about appearances and backing friends than justice.
