This is probably not going to help that much.
I have/had prostrate cancer, but mine was treated last year with nine weeks of daily radiation followed by two years of hormone therapy (which isn't fun either). I still have about 11 months of the hormone therapy. When I first talked to my Doctor about various treatments, he indicated that seed implants were not a good choice for me. I did have stomach cramps during the radiation treatment, but it tapered off when the radiation ended.

I think that all cases of prostrate cancer are different and there seems to be a wide selection of "protocol" treatments for them. Everyone in the radiation treatment waiting was getting a different, or slightly different, treatment and the range of reactions was varied.

hope you are able to get in touch with the Doctor to discuss this, but don't be greatly surprised if he/she tells you that the cramping is a common reaction. That was the answer virtually every time I mentioned an unpleasant side effect.

You and your husband have my deep sympathy as you deal with this long ordeal. But is the treatment was started early enough your husband should have a long life after this is over.

Hi Mary, I am sorry to hear about your husband having
pains after treatment, that is more upsetting than not
having anything done I find, it is another worry especially
today with all the lockdown stuff that we have to practice.

I had Prostate problems from 2001 - 2017, not cancer I
hasten to add, I had BPH, an enlarged prostate, which
was very unpleasant, without the added worry of cancer.

In the end I had PAE, Prostate Arterial Embolisation which
cured my problem, a friend who has Prostate Cancer had
the same procedure done and it was a complete failure.

So as Pecos says each cancer case is different to the men
who are suffereing from it, looking at some reports about
the seeds, they are radiation seeds, some temporary and
others permanent and as he said he got stomach cramps
from the radiation, so that seems to be the cause and not
something sinister.

Hopefully his body will soon accept the seeds and stop
cramping.

Mike.

I just spoke to my b-i-l who had the seeds. He said he had lower abdomen cramps and diarrhea for several months, but it worked. He was pleased with the results.

Thank you and your comments were encouraging. His cancer was caught in good time so the outlook is good. All the best to you in the future

Mary I know you're looking for anyone who has experienced this type of procedure, but for now... I found this which states that, any time after the procedure and up to 2 or 3 years after, the patient can suffer from Bowel cramps.... (just thought you might not be aware of that, if it might help)

Thanks, HollyDolly. We weren't told about that
