PSA from Germany about Sexual Abuse ***Trigger Warning***

This is extremely powerful. I want to share it, but feel compelled to say please do NOT view the video if there's a risk of being triggered in any way. It's an important message for those who truly don't understand the lasting effects on victims or think it's easy (or possible) to "get over." When the tentacles finally leave her at the end, I cried.

 

I have seen a similar video, not in German, but nonetheless, the same message. When a young female or in some cases, a male, the incident can stay in their mind for years. I knew a young 12 y/o that was molested and never trusted men for years. I would occasionally see her at the convenience store where she worked after she got into high school. She would always call me Mr. Smith. (Not my real last name.) I never knew her to have or be with a boy. I would talk to her, but never about boys, if it was slow inside.
