Why don’t some people understand pub protocol? Just went upstairs to the toilet in Wetherspoons leaving best part of a pint on the table and returned to find a couple of numpties sitting there!
What's a numpties? Why don’t some people understand pub protocol? Just went upstairs to the toilet in Wetherspoons leaving best part of a pint on the table and returned to find a couple of numpties sitting there!
I love that word. Numpties. It just has the ring of a couple of jackwagons who have no manners. Mind if I purloin this beauty of a word? Why don’t some people understand pub protocol? Just went upstairs to the toilet in Wetherspoons leaving best part of a pint on the table and returned to find a couple of numpties sitting there!
You sure it was beer?!Why don’t some people understand pub protocol? Just went upstairs to the toilet in Wetherspoons leaving best part of a pint on the table and returned to find a couple of numpties sitting there!
it's actually a word we use very regularly... instead of calling people 'stupid' or Idiots.. or worse.. if they do something that seems stupid or lacking in common sense, they would be called a numpty.. but rarely to their face..usually just in reference to them or their actions...I love that word. Numpties. It just has the ring of a couple of jackwagons who have no manners. Mind if I purloin this beauty of a word?![]()
Good point. You sure it was beer?!
As opposed to used beer? You sure it was beer?!
Not me and nobody of my age will do either in the UK.They may have thought the person left and didn't finish the drink..
People do...do that.
Adnam's Ghost Ship, pretty good real ale actually. You sure it was beer?!
Set a clean napkin/serviette on top. It indicates you’re returning. It's too bad there's no way to "leave a signal"..that you'd be back to finish.
I'm not sure about "pub" etiquette, but "bar" etiquette is "Ya snooze, ya loose". You get off the bar stool, you lose all rights, and privileges associated with barstool ownership. It's in the US Constitution.Good point.
I never leave a partial unattended.
I don't even leave one with my friends.....especially my friends
I've never heard of numpties.. and not jackwagons either...I love that word. Numpties. It just has the ring of a couple of jackwagons who have no manners. Mind if I purloin this beauty of a word?![]()
There are no bar stools in Wetherspoons, thankfully.I'm not sure about "pub" etiquette, but "bar" etiquette is "Ya snooze, ya loose". You get off the bar stool, you lose all rights, and privileges associated with barstool ownership. It's in the US Constitution.
Check out the YouTube channel "Vilified Freedom". He did not coin the term, others use it, but VF has made it popular. It probably has generally the same connotation as "numpties".I've never heard of numpties.. and not jackwagons either...![]()
