http://mashable.com/2014/09/12/pumpkin-spice-all-the-things/

ake one last look at the things you love most in your life, because come October, everything will have been pumpkin-spiced.
Though the highly frothed-at-the-mouth-over PSL has yet to officially make its return to Starbucks, the epidemic is already in full force — just take a quick stroll down the snack section of your local grocery store or take a dive into Weird Etsy. You can't escape the pumpkin spice craze, it's even in your protein powder.

I myself have purchased a 6 pack of Harvest Patch beer, yes...pumpkin spice flavored. It's delicious!

Hard to imagine what spiced jelly would taste like ?? Maybe used to set mashed pumpkin? For a salad ? Saying all that I've never heard of it in Aus ..but will goggle it latter ..No don't really think it would appeal to me just curious

Holly, pumpkin pie is a big deal here for the holidays, Thanksgiving & Christmas. We make pureed pumpkin into a sort of custard, flavored with cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, crushed cloves. Some people don't use one or more of those spices, some use them all. It's poured into a pie shell & baked, then served with whipped cream, usually.

I'm not crazy about it myself, but I liked the beer

Actually pumpkin itself tastes pretty much like nothing. Practically no flavor, but what little flavor there is, is not unpleasant. It's all in the spices!

I've recently learned that pumpkin puree, which can be bought in a can is super good for you-

Kadee, not a jelly. Pumpkin is a memeber of the squash family and very good for you. It's the spice used to flavor it that becomes the rage here in the autumn.

Thanks RR, I obviously know what pumpkin is :), But what would you use pumpkin spice Jelly for ??(We call your jello , Jelly) which is a desert .
I know Aussies , (Formally from USA) who make and eat pumpkin pie ,I have tasted it and I'm not a fan however that's more than likely because we have always eaten pumpkin as Just another vegtable with our meals

OH! I see what you meant now, Kadee. So sorry, Jelly or Jello being on the spice list. LOL. Yes, what would one use that for? Just another cog in the pumpkin pie spice wheel. :D

Love the pumpkin pie, spiced of course. Is it possible that it doesn't grow in the UK? In which case they are really missing out on a treat. Pumpkin pie with ice cream, yum, even in Canada.

Rose, yes I know it's a huge thing in the USA and although it is available here...but usually only at halloween (or canned )...I've always been told as you said..that it's very bland so I've never been tempted to try it.. :)

Cookie, yes ..they do grow pumpkins here but not on the scale of the US or Canada.. it's just not very popular here.. :)

There is a city in Circleville, Ohio that has a HUGE 4-day Pumpkin Festival every year in mid October. I've never been, but several friends and relatives have. They said it's great fun and great food. Pumpkin everything. :) I'm not real crazy about pumpkin pie, but the donuts and muffins sound good.

I used to watch Little People Big World and the Roloff family live on a pumpkin farm and every year thousands of people literally thousands turn up and fill their cars with pumpkins, I always wondered what on earth people were going to do with all of them!!

Hollydolly, I too used to watched Little People Big World. They live in an beautiful area of Oregon I lived in a few years in the mid-late 70s. Anyway, I love pumpkin pie, smothered with whip cream. I saw a man with a big pumpkin pie in his cart at Costco the other day and I almost embarrassed myself by going over to talk to him about it. It was the first one of the season I'd seen. Now that I am older I have to take a tums (antacid) afterwards. The spices in pumpkin pie get to me now.

IMHO pumpkin pie is good, but way too much of it is not (as a little bitty kid I ate so much of it I was sick for 2 days and had a spell of several years where I couldn't even look at it). I don't care for the craze of putting pumpkin pie spice in everything, though. Pumpkin beer sounds awful!
