Put Plants on Porch

It's been so mild, I put all my houseplants outside. Wouldn't you know...Wednesday and Thursday night it's predicted to dip into the 30sF. Now I'll have to bring them in for a few nights.

Having lived in Dutchess County, New York that's a spring ritual I remember doing many times. And in the fall (when I brought my plants in for the winter) many insects were happy to make my acquaintance.......never ending battle.

I potted annuals last week.....27 pots of annuals. Also peppers and tomatoes, the weather forecast called for non freezing temps going forward.

Spent the last two days covering the peppers and tomatoes with buckets, as the forecasters minds did an about turn and called for light frost and hauled all 27 pots of annuals into the shed for the overnight and hauled them out again in the morning.

Now they are calling for freeze temps. I will cover stuff in the ground with whatever I can find, even if I have to use my dinner bowls and glassware.

Annuals are coming inside stuffed into large clear bags so no creepy crawlies escape. Riley will have a blast. He will figure he can't go out to the outdoors so mommy is bringing the indoors in.
