Living a very solitary life in a rural setting, I rarely have guests. Like once a year and that is usually a sibling.
In two weeks, the parents of a close friend will be in this area and are stopping by for a visit. I have met and like these people, they are my age and we have a lot in common. I am, however, a little nervous about "entertaining". I plan a lunch of a tomato/beans/spinach dish. The spinach is added last and can be withheld if they don't like spinach. We will most likely spend time sitting in the gazebo by the creek, just visiting. I asked my friend what they like to drink. She said tea; I assume iced tea since they are from the south where it is very hot.
Well, I have quite a collection of teas, mostly herbals, but also green and black teas. I would like to have a pitcher of tea prepared before they arrive. Maybe two different types in different pitchers? If I wait and make it after they arrive, it will be poured very hot over ice which will melt and dilute it.
So, what would you recommend?
