I have made macaroons .. they're very sweet, but I love them.
Have had macarons from a specialty macaron bakery .. they're also good - and somewhat costly.
Can't say I like one over the other.

Macaroon: Meringue with coconut.

Nothing is similar except some of the letters in the name. Two, totally different treats, so we cannot compare.

Have never made them and the few times I have bought them... the price keeps hiking. Well, here at our grocery store (HEB).
