Rattlesnake Roundup Day - January 28th

We have a rattlesnake hunt here in PA. I think it’s held in June. It’s a catch and release type hunt. They measure the snakes before they release them. People with the longest snake wins. I went on one hunt with a friend who was more experienced than I was. We caught 4, but none long enough to win anything. The one guy brought in freshly laid eggs. They were sent to a place where they raise them until they can milk them for their venom to make antivenom. I saw a couple of Eastern Diamondbacks, which are very fatal if bitten.
