Reality shows becoming porn

i would agree although i have never watched them we see enough on never ending commercials for them during many respectable shows.
I think some of the interest in shows is that they pay very well .... for no privacy these people often do not have to keep real jobs.
so many pitching themselves to go one step farther then the current show etc.....

How Much Reality TV Shows Pay Per Season (If Anything), Ranked
anywhere from approximately $1000-1500 an episode to in case of the bachelor 70-100k for the season.... for 2 months shooting seems like easy money.
If starting salary for respectable jobs is much less why not take 2 months to make 70K .... if you are reconizable after show you can pick up commercials and such ...... much like child actors these 15 minute fame reality stars have no skill for long term.

Of course there is a massive USA porn audience they market to, ever increasing as more become addicted just like Pavlov's dog to the bell. Reality due to neural plasticity is, we are what we do and experience including what we watch on media. One can expect they will continually push boundaries as much as they can until our general population becomes used to it. IMO sick. That is factor to why I have not had cable tv for decades, just OTA, as I don't need to be manipulated by social engineers with agendas.

There's no such thing as a "reality" show on TV. "Real" doesn't even approach those things.

A true reality show would involve a parent trying to get three children ready and out the door to school and day-care, while he/she is also trying to get ready to go to work.
There are genuine "reality shows", but they're called documentaries. Canadian filmmakers produce a lot of them, and they're shown on a couple of our channels. The Knowledge Network regularly runs ones anywhere (usually) from 10 minutes to 50 minutes in length. But even here, the audience is limited compared with popular TV or movie entertainment.

I think a large section of North-America's populace today is pretty well numbed, and many tend to wallow in sensational or salacious stuff on the screen.
