Red Velvet Cake

Does red velvet cake have cocoa in it? I can't eat chocolate and at tomorrow's senior club, a woman posted on Facebook that she's bringing red velvet cupcakes. The photo looked like chocolate cake, though.

Yes it does, Deb. The recipes I see require 1/2 C. Of cocoa powder.

Yes,I used to work in a bekery,in order to achieve that velvety red,the use of coacoa powder and red food coloring is bblended in.
