Did not want to hijack the other thread so I'll start a new one. Hopefully this is not in too bad a taste for you guys.

Use of public restrooms, Yea or Nay?

I have no problem using a public urinal ,but I cannot make myself sit on a public toilet. In my mind the two grossest act of the human body is vomiting and going #2, I understand that vomiting is usually an emergency, while the other can normally be regulated to a great degree.

Seems everytime I go into a store there is someone sitting on the stool. I just can't imagine having so little self control that I could not get through a 4 hr shopping trip without having to use the john.

Lon's heated seat brought this to mind, a seat warmed by a family member is bad enough, but warmed by a stranger would be enough to cause me to vomit.:uncomfortableness:

No problem. If I have to go, I have to go.

For the man on the go...

Over the years, I've worked out on the road. The past 15 years I've been on the road 4 to 5 days/week. Therefore, I have "adopted" certain places to stop if I have to use a toilet. Actually, I've found that WalMart toilets can be fairly clean. Also, public libraries usually have clean facilities. You just can't find a library easily driving through a town. When nature requires a "sit down"... those seem to be the places I try first. McDonald's can have some of the dirtiest restrooms out there. Yet, for quick bladder relief, McD's are usually easy to spot... no pun intended.
Working construction sites, there are the usual porta-johns. Talk about some dirty, filthy places to do business in!!! If I'm staying in the area, I'll drive back to my hotel room before using a porta-john. For bladder relief, the pickup door or heavy equipment tracks/tires will usually do the trick.

When I was driving the Medi-Cab, I traveled basically to the same Health providers during the week. We did a lot of cancer patients and the mens room in the Womans Health Centers was a good bet.
