If you still have any teeth left and are flossing you can probably stop. It seems that there is no evidence that it does any good and we can't floss like the hygienist does in the dentist's office. Flossing is just a pig pain in the ass so let it go.

Hi Ralphy. OK so I can stop flossing now. (BTW are you still in contact with Sam? Florence is worrying about her)

Sam used to call me every morning but stopped when she moved to a condo several months ago. It seems that she has met a lot of new people and started a new life. Glad you checked in so I won't have to send Lisa to check up on you...

Yes, I read this. The problem in the US is that few people seem to use interdental brushes. How are you going to get the food out that gets stuck between your teeth? These are sold everywhere in the UK but I don't remember seeing them in the US. They are great for your gums!

Not actual size! LOL.

Does she still have Matisse? (I can at least let Florence know to stop worrying now) thanks for the info. L broke her leg a few months ago....very badly she is with us now for her recovery.

As I recall she gave Matisse away with visiting rights or stabled him, it was unclear who broke a leg but I hope it mends quickly.

You'll have to pry my floss sticks from my cold, dead hands!!!! I only have my bottom teeth left. Full denture on the uppers. But, I use floss sticks to remove food/foreign material from the lower teeth on a regular basis. It's more "convenience" than for oral health.

Don't need any "experts" telling me when it's a good idea to remove food from between my teeth and when it's time to stop the practice. Amazing that some might toss their floss in the trash now and breathe a sigh of relief. :D

I'm in my 60s and floss and use the proxa brushes frequently, never had good teeth and am starting to show signs of unhealthy gums, so since I don't have any dentures yet, and want to avoid ever having to have them, I'll continue with the flossing. Besides, bad breath from a piece of fish or meat stuck in your teeth for several days is inevitable. Good hygiene = brushing and flossing. :brush:

I use the floss brushes and also use my Ultra Water Flosser every single day. Don`t know how I ever survived without it! And my dental checkups have been awesome ever since I started using it four years ago.

I use floss and interdental brushes. I get compliments when I go to the dentist every 6 months on how healthy looking my gums are. Have all my own teeth unless you count about 8 or 9 crowns. :D

I use the plastic flossers with two strands of floss stretched across the opening.

I use them after every food intake. A whole package lasts me for several months.

Look for them in your local drug store.

Flossing helps ward off bad breath and keeps my gums from getting swollen and infected. So I'm still doing it, just like I kept eating eggs when they said they were bad for me, and kept drinking milk that they said was bad for me. They keep changing their minds about everything.
