and I think Bonnie has a good point!It may not be politically correct to say so but I don't believe that it's the tobacco that is killings smokers. I think it's all the chemicals they put on them now. Back in the day, we broke suckers out by hand. Now they spray a chemical . We picked worms off by hand. Now they spray a chemical. We chopped weeds out by hand. Ditto the chemical. They spray a pre-emergence chemical and more as the season advances. They need for all of it to ripen almost at once. So they use another chemical to make it turn yellow. That's enough to kill you.

You can believe all you want, but the link between lung cancer and smoking was discovered in the 40s and 50s.

I saw one old piece of advice from a doctor that said "be sure your children get several hours of sun a day to get that healthy deep tan". Yep, and they can look like a nice old piece of leather later.

Yes, I remember those and now some of those poor doctors have passed away from lung cancer. It seems odd to my kids and grand kids now to see Ricky Ricardo, Jack Web, Perry Mason and tons of others smoking on old TV shows. Times have changed.
