Remember the Christmas Truce?

Gaer

"Angel whisperer"
It's in one of my history books that I can't find now but :
Holy Angels have appeared on many battlefields over the ages. Angels can appear or not appear, as they desire.
IMO, A realm of Angels looked into the hearts of the soldiers that Christmas Eve in1914 when a German soldier began singing, " Stille Nacht" and other German Soldiers stopped firing and joined in the singing. Then On the other side, The British, Swiss and French soldiers started singing "Silent Night".
These weren't a handful of soldiers. Nearly 100,000 men were on the front line that night. Some even had a smoke with the enemy and exchanged small gifts.
I understand other carols were sang and "Merry Christmas" was yelled out through the night.

Can you imagine how it would have felt to hear the long silence after the voices sang Christmas Carols in the distance of the dark night? How they must have seen their enemies as just men, just like them? Afterward, they called it the Christmas truce. I think of it as a Christmas miracle.
Anyway, I was touched when I read that true story.
I guess there is a movie about it; "Joyeux Noel" but I don't have enough power on my server to watch it.
