Remember when you were most alive?

This will sound childishly silly but I will never forget that day when I rode the Roseneath Carousel. Me, hubby and our best friends and the carousel had just been restored and we happened by and were the first to test it out.

They let us ride for a good 20 minutes, we laughed so hard we cried. We took pictures making silly faces while riding. And of course all the pics of me had the head cut off, my friend Helen always managed to catch me when the horse was down. If anyone reading ever goes by that way it is worth the stop, link below.

i felt most alive when i began to live my own life.
after the kid was raised and on his own...was when i finally began to do what I wanted to do,
not what was expected, nor what i was sppsd to do: i began My Life.

i adopted wild mustangs and began the most joyous decades of My Life.
i loved my kid and my DH but the horses brought me more Joy and more satisfaction and
more love than id ever felt in my life before them. I am so grateful for the years i had with
with horses as a kid and the dream i Always had of them in My Life once i was free enough to do it.
when that time came i began to live My Life. prior to that it feels, it seemed, like i was just doing
what others wanted of me.

i am ever grateful for knowing and finding what meant the most to me, the person.
my eyes fill with tears of joy recalling what that life was like for me. how joyous and thrilled i was
to be living it, every moment. finally.

id ride the big ranch singing Amazing Grace out loud amonsgt the trees, the birds, and my soul.
i couldnt have been more content.

and now...i must figure out what to do with the horse gear, and my Bona Allen Saddle,
since i cant take it with me anymore.

thanks.

I think it was the summer that I retired and took off with the Spousal Equivalent to see America in our new RV.

For the first time in a zillion years I had no responsibilities, nobody breathing down my neck about delays and deadlines, nothing to do but have fun.

At long last, I was seeing the places I had only dreamed about. I felt 20 years younger and 10 times stronger. The first place we were headed was Yellowstone. I was a new person.

Poor Yellowstone. It's going to be a while before it's back in shape.

When: I'm most alive during thunderstorms.
After a long drought, my late husband and I danced the waltz in an afternoon rainstorm, out on the lawn.
Where: I felt most alive in my adventures in Alaska. Just the wildness of the air makes you feel alive. (and the dangers)
Who: The first time a man kissed me and i felt it all the way to my toes.
What: When my toddlers were little and ran into my arms yelling, "Mommy! Mommy!"
Being near mountain streams makes me feel so alive too, or sitting beside my Yellowstone River as a child.

Every time I get out and the dance floor and dance to my full capability I feel alive and energized! Every single time!

Also when I’m by a body of water, listening to the brook bubble, the stream run or the surf pound I feel restored and Alice, and at the same time serene and peaceful. It’s why whenEver possible, Ron’s and my Airbnb adventures are spent by water of some kind!

Yes! Just like me! water rushing over the rocks and the scents! Powerful!
I used to teach ballroom dancing but haven't done this for YEARS! I sometimes dance alone in my home.

I was 18 (1975) and my older brother picked me up to drive back home up North. We smoked a little pot and just cruised up North with windows down singing to tunes on radio. Picked up hitchhiker and laughed. Truly no worries in the world. So care free and alive.
Well, I never did the drugs but I forgot to say my teen years dragging main with all my girlfriends, with all the windows rolled down in minus 40 degree weather and listening to KOMA Oklahoma City's Wolfman Jack's top 40's as loud as possible! Singin along! Yahoo!

I hope it is sometime in the near future. I feel like I'm running out of time....
@Buckeye, Can you personal message me about it when you feel ready to talk about it?
I write books about Angels and God, so I may use your story in one of my books (not your name or anything)
God usually speaks through his messengers, the Holy Angels. But, I would love to hear your story!
