Retired and doing only what I feel like doing....

Welcome, debrah. I’ve RV traveled in your part of the country. Beautiful scenery, lovely people. Look forward to getting to know you.
I was born in Alberta and travelled through it several times in the years since and except for along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, beautiful isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe it. So I find it interesting that you had that experience. The odd time when the light is just right at the golden hour and a dark and moody sky from a passing storm is on the horizon, it's impressive with it's bigness. Anyway, thanks for the welcome Helen.

I was returning to u.s. after a summer in Alaska. The vast openness was peaceful but area around Banff was stunning even after seeing Alaska. I’m a sucker for beautiful scenery.

@Debrah N. Hello and welcome, I agree retirement is the best and time to do whatever you like.

Welcome from Beautiful BC!
Beautiful BC! Don't make me cry! I might be living in Alberta, even born here......but I'm a BC girl at heart and I miss the big beautiful trees!!! And the coastline and Whistler and Vancouver, the grasslands of Merritt and the hiking trails around Chilliwack and......all of it! Anyway, thanks for the welcome mrstime.

One time I heard Marianne Williamson talking about how we all have a 'spiritual home', the place where we just feel right, the place our soul belongs (on this earth). She 'belongs' in Houston, her daughter 'belongs' in London and I 'belong' in BC. Next life! I'll be back ;)
