Revising or editing a post that's been posted on this forum

First of all, forgive me for asking this. I spent a lot of years as a freelance journalist, and some years editing a couple of trade journals. I generally wrote two or three drafts before submitting the final version. (Yes, on forums one should always preview and re-read before posting.)

Most online forums I've participated in allow a member to edit a post, sometimes within a time frame of a day or so. Sometimes the limitation comes in when somebody quotes the post in a reply. Is it the case that there isn't a provision for revising or editing a post here on Senior Forums?

You will be able to Edit once you've been a member for a little while longer..

I found the editing function disappeared on all my posts on a thread that I happened to have started. Roughly 24 hours after my last post on it, the word "edit" was no longer there at the bottom of the posts.

Ruthanne, above, referred to a possible 24-hour limit on the option. So has my puzzlement occurred because I forgot there's a time limit on that function. ??

BTW, is there a FAQ page for Seniors Forums?

Hi, JBR, do your drafts, offline on a writing programme,
if you feel the need to double and triple check your work.

Edited to add this link to another part of the Forums where,
technical questions are asked!
