My father had it as a child in the 1920s. I've never met anyone, especially in recent times, that was affected by it. Made him 4F for WWII.

Strep infections cause RHD. Is usually a delayed autoimmune response. Causes heart valve dysfunction, joint pain. A reason kids need to be treated for strep throat asap; and kids need to stay home when sick with a strep throat infection.
