Rio Tinto Zinc Owes Aboriginal Landowners £200 Million

I read this article with sadness about the way this company
treats the Aboriginal people of Australia, not only did they
destroy a holy place last year, it now turns out that they are
underpaying Royalties to the Landowners and have been
since the 1997 agreement.

To add insult to injury, they offered £21 Million, a sum that
was rejected and a Forensic Audit carried out, this found an
underpayment of £210 Million.

Glad they caught it, though. The company, Rio, even had to pay to have the forensic audit conducted. My favorite part was "The sums at stake are insignificant for Rio, which last week announced it had raked in almost £9 billion in profits in the first half of the year...." It's not all a done deal, though.
