In the early 80s, I saw an off-Broadway production of a play called Hurlyburly. The cast included William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Christopher Walken, Cynthia Nixon, Harvey Keitel, Jerry Stiller and Judith Ivey. Hurt was already famous and the others were more or less so (Cynthia Nixon was just coming on the scene).
I always thought he was a good actor, kind of an everyman type.
