RIP, Famed Self Help Doctor and Horror Film Director Passed Recently

In an ironic twist of a fate a famed self help doctor Dwayne Dyer passed on the same weekend as famed horror movie director Wes Craven died. One tried to help people live a better life and the other showed all the gruesome ways one could die.

Wayne Dyer was my late husband's first Doctoral Committee chairman. Then his books started to take off and he had to resign from the committee so he could go on the book circuit. My late husband had great admiration for him. I never had the opportunity to meet him.

I enjoyed reading many of Wayne Dyer's books over the years and am sad to hear he is gone. His early work "Pulling Your Own Strings" is still widely read today. He will be missed.

I have admired him and listened to his tapes, PBS specials, read his books for several years.

I never met him, but I heard Wayne Dyer say in an interview, that every day he would go to his desk and pick up a letter or note from someone and do something nice for them. It might be to send flowers to a lady on her way to the hospital for serious surgery, or it might be to send a 100 dollar bill to someone, or just sit down and write a nice note to a person needing encouragement. Anyway, I thought that was nice and a great example.

I'm sorry to hear Dr. Dyer has passed away. There are still some of his books I want to read. Great man.
