I remember when I first saw his show thinking that he was a ham and wanted more attention then the actor he was interviewing. However his interviewing style grew on me in time and I ended up watching every episode of Inside the Actors Studio even if I wasn't particularly fond of the actor being interviewed. James Lipton was very good at getting the actors to lower their walls. I also enjoyed his role as the prison warden on Arrested Development.

I've always had respect for artists, no matter what their medium is. I love to see how they create, the steps they take, the decisions they make. James Lipton managed to get to the core of these questions in such an entertaining manner. Great job, James Lipton, good work.

I used to watch this show'Inside the Actor's Studio',throughly enjoyed it
The interviews actually were 4-5 hrs, then were scaled down to an hour or 2
Lipton was always well prepared with his index cards that his team of researchers gave him
R.I.P

I loved Inside the Actor's Studio and will miss it. I really gained more respect for some of the actors who appeared on the show that I didn't have good opinions of. James Lipton did a great job of getting into the actor's backgrounds and thought processes to help me better understand who they were and why they acted the way they did.

I mean to reply to this before. I really liked the concept of the show and how he got the actors to open up. And that last question he always asked...LOL May he R.I.P.
