How he tormented us with that damn curve ball. Wasn't 'til he had serious arm troubles that my Orioles could beat him. And by then we were a good team, won the World Series in '66.

Yes, he was a great pitcher. They were a heck of team in those days.

I remember Whitey and the others on the Yankees when I was a young child. My dad's old friends all called him Whitey. My older sister and dad were big fans and were always talking about the team. It was sad to hear, but he had a long life and I hope it was special to the end.
