Robotic Prostate Surgery

Have any of you had Robotic Prostate Surgery. I'm going in on the 21st and don't know what to expect. They tell me that it is easy... but they also say I'll be in a catheter for ten days. If you have had (or know someone who has) please give me some advice, so I can be prepared.

Not for Prostate, but my husband had Robotic colon cancer surgery. Just left a couple small scars, and he tolerated it well. Did not have a lot of pain post surgery. Good luck, Al.
Ask your Doc to explain exactly how it works, and ask if he can direct you to a video of it in action.

Cath for 10 days? A friend had the same surgery & he only had a cath for 1 day. Maybe not the same procedure - he had the T.U.R.P.
I may need that in the future; my doctor said I'd have a cath for 1 day.

You've made me feel much better. We're driving across the state to get this done, it sounds like it is well worth it. Hope that your husband is well and happy.

I hope that you're right. I thought that he said to return in ten days and take out the catheter, but maybe I misunderstood. One day would be a blessing.
