Yeah but TV was free back then. Now it's either cable or satellite. Best to subscribe to both, it's worth the money.
No it's not either cable or satellite if you have internet. I haven't had cable for close to 2 years. I get way more programming using my Roku to access streaming services, two of which are currently free thanks to Metro PCS (Amazon Prime) and Verizon Fios (Disney Plus) I'm paying $16 for Philo which has all my HGTV favorites live & on demand. I pay $9.59 for Netflix & $12+ for Hulu Plus. So I'm paying $38+ a month for tons of (mostly ad free) programming. A comparable cable package would probably cost $80 or more.
