Root Canals Extraction, .... what expects?

Hello:
Due to bacteria infection on upper part of my mouth, my dentist needed to extract most of root canals, 6(six root-canals in all) in that area after antibiotic med. did not do any.
The dentist told me that root-canal is to hold 'bone,' then I started to concern whether the denture I've been wearing for years could affect because of a loss of root-canals.
I'd appreciate it if anyone has an experience as to a loss of root-canal or knows about it would be truly appreciated.

Thanks,

I think your dentist would be the person to ask. Good luck.
Yes, that's correct. However, my dentist appears to me hesitant to elaborate, saying that we're taking care of. Then, I started to concern whether my denture might be negative effect because of a number of root-canal extractions.

Then ask him to elaborate. We certainly can’t on his behalf.

Hello Yori2019. Welcome to the forums.

If I understand you correctly, your dentist has performed "root canal procedures" on six of your upper teeth. That means he removed the dead (or diseased) nerves from those teeth, but not the teeth themselves.

I don't have dentures, but I have had several root canal procedures done over the years. I have never noticed any change in the position or alignment of those teeth following the procedure, so I don't think it would affect the fit of an existing (lower?) denture.

I will tell you that I have become skeptical of dentists in recent years. A couple years ago, a dentist took x-rays of my teeth and told me that one molar looked like it might be infected and might need a root canal. He wanted to refer me to a specialist. The tooth was not painful, so I told him that I would wait. That was over two years ago, and that tooth is still still fine.

Always use your best judgement when a doctor or dentist recommends treatment. If you are in doubt, you might want to seek a second opinion.

Dear Tommy:
Thanks for sharing an experience. I really appreciate it.
Initially, my GP told me that I had sinus infection after CT-scan and sent me to ETN who also took another CT-scan and rx'ed antibiotic. He told me come back two weeks later which I did and I had still swelling and uncomfortable under the right eye.
Then, a specialist/ETN told me not only sinus infection also dental issue. I went my dentist and he extracted 4(four) root-canals after examined an X-ray in his office. Two weeks later, there was still swelling under the right side of nose and the dentist rx'ed Antibiotic which did not help at all. Afterwards, he extracted remaining 2(two) root-canals upper right side of my mouth. It appears to me 'lost a lot of root-canals.' The dentist told me that root-canals hold 'bone,' however he didn't elaborate, saying 'we take care of.'
I've been going to this dentist for over 20 years, then I trust him, however a lack of explanations on my current situation started to concern me.
I used to have a good teeth until in my early '60, however I started losing teeth one by one which I suspect on my child-birth and breast-feeding for two babies when I was young. Now, I wear both upper and lower partial denture.
I'm in my late '70 and otherwise in good health working around the house and gardening, however my denture sometimes bother me. I accept my dental-situation, knowing that my father had similar dental problem in his late '70. He passed away at age 93 with natural cause. Then, I might have inherited my father's dental trait about which I don't know.

Oh, I just forgot to say 'many thanks' for providing your experience, the above. Because, my concern to this procedure is whether a loss of 6(six) root-canals affects an alignment to the teeth/denture. For me, it's quite scaring to hear 'root canal holding the bone.'
Probably, what my dentist saying 'we take care of....' is that I may need another set of Denture, not now but down the road.
Thank you very much,
