Rose in bloom

We've got at least two municipal rose gardens here in San Jose, but they tend to peak in about mid April. There are still a lot of rose bushes around here that still have some nice blossoms but there aren't as many as there were a couple of months ago.

I've heard of people trying to propogate roses from seed, but they grow to be wild roses. Most florabundas are grafted onto wild rose stocks.

That is true. I did grow something called polyanthus rose from seed. I got one that is a miniature version of the rambler. The blooms are about the size of a nickle. The other has terrible looking blooms but I don't have the heart to kill it. So if you plant a dozen you may get one that's nice.

I had a HUGE wild rose bush out by my back door. I had to keep it trimmed or the thorns got to be vicious when I had to walk in and out past it. In September 2017, there was a big storm with high wind. It blew the overhang off the back of the house and took the bush with it. It never grew back.

I have pink roses around my front door, and just 2 days ago, I had to prune them all back as they had started to die off..but today when I was out there was some beautiful Orange & lemon roses growing , although getting ready to die back ..so I took a close up of one of them
