Rugby trip to North Wales

Oh you're in Birmingham ?..I thought on the other thread you were still in Wales.

I have never once been to Birmingham when it hasn't rained, so seeing dry pics is a first for me.

Only changed trains in Birmingham.Rained in the second half.

I love a train ride, especially in the old timers, listening to the clunking on the rail line, closing the window in a hurry when I see a tunnel. Memories.
me too, and I'm fortunate that we have train stations all around us and within easy reach...
Train fares are eye watering here, but if we book several weeks in advance we can lower the fares on long journeys, and now I'm over 60 I get a discounted rate as well.

We also have commuter trains which gets us all around the country , and in and out of the city which are used as regularly if not more so than buses.... My return fare to the centre of London is around £10 ( 20 miles away) and that fare also includes all my tube ( subway) .. trains I may use while I'm in the city too

And use trainsplitter to reduce costs.
i had five single tickets for my trip.
Much cheaper than buying a simple return!

oh I don't know about those...does that mean you're having to change trains 5 times for one journey ?.. I couldn't be bothered with that... I'll do a max of one change...
No....the only rule is the train you are on must call at the stations on your tickets.
On Saturday on the way up I had the following tickets..
Newport to Lydney
Lydney to Birmingham
Birmingham to Colwyn Bay.
Booking with trainsplitter that cost £26.(with a Senior railcard)
Coming back I had a ticket from Colwyn Bay to Abergele and Pensarn and another from Abergele to P
Cwmbran
Trainsplitter saved me £8.39.
