Safer No-Calorie Sweetener Not Artificial

Allulose. I mentioned it awhile back. Not an artificially-produced chemical, but rather a "trimer" molecular spinoff of another natural sugar, D-Fructose.

Fructose, or fruit sugar, is a simple ketonic monosaccharide found in many plants, where it is often bonded to glucose to form the disaccharide sucrose. It is one of the three dietary monosaccharides, along with glucose and galactose, that are absorbed directly into the bloodstream during digestion.

"Allulose is a low calorie sugar with the same clean, sweet taste you expect from sugar. Soon you’ll be able to find it in a wide range of foods and beverages to support a healthy lifestyle.Allulose is one of many different sugars that exists in nature in very small quantities. It was initially identified from wheat and has since been found in certain fruits including jackfruit, figs and raisins.
Allulose is naturally present in small quantities in a variety of sweet foods like caramel sauce, maple syrup and brown sugar.
A monosaccharide, or simple sugar, allulose is absorbed by the body, but not metabolized so it is nearly calorie-free."

Still unknown: does Allulose cause or contribute to tooth decay, my main reason for using artificial sweeteners all my life. Now to try to find a source. If I buy some, I'll report back on it's use: taste, useful in cooking, etc. imp
